The Flood Risk Tools suite brings together a curated assortment of flood hazard awareness tools and resources designed for public works professionals, emergency managers, engineers, and other decision makers. By leveraging trusted, readily available data and guidance, the site helps users better understand flood risk across planning, preparedness, and response. At its core, the Risk Awareness Dashboard (RAD) delivers tailored, location-specific insights and resources to support informed, real-time decisions during flooding events.

Letter of Map Change Process

This tool is available to request that FEMA change their flood maps. This tool allows you to remove or administratively remove a property/structure from the regulatory floodplain.

  • LOMR-Letter of Map Revision: change the flood maps (development), must conduct an engineering study

  • LOMA-Letter of Map Amendment: administratively remove a home or business from the floodplain. Requires an elevation certificate that shows the lowest adjacent grade of structure is above the base flood elevation. A standard boundary survey doesn't include an elevation certificate.
